Greetings readers,
It's no secret that I strongly prefer physical books and paperbacks.
Despite that, I have an e-reader and it is loaded with books. I like to read on my device while travelling or when there's a good deal on the ebook version of a book. I've discovered that changing settings like font and page colour enhances my reading experience, and me feel less like I’m on a screen.
In the world of self-publishing, I’m known as a “wide” author. This means my ebooks are everywhere possible, not just with Amazon. This is a personal choice and one every self-published another can decide for themselves.
Smashwords is one of these ebook outlets. They are hosting a reading event called Read an Ebook Week. It begins today, 3rd March, and it’s all about encouraging readers to opt for a digital device and download a new book. Perhaps finding a new author they haven’t read before.
I’m excited to announce that my books, Earthly Bodies and Dark Is The Water, will be available as part of the promotion on Smashwords to celebrate 2024 Read an Ebook Week!
This is a chance to get my books for FREE and discover works by many talented authors, all at a discount, ensuring you can read without delay.
You will find the promo here starting on 3rd March, so save the link:

Happy reading!
PS- If you don’t use Smashwords, don't worry, it’s both my books’ birthdays in April and I’m planning some treats.
I have a form of arthritis in my thumbs (I’m 66) that makes it painful to use them precisely in the way one opens and holds a book. I also have difficulty turning pages. As a result, I stopped buying print books altogether about six years ago. I used to have a significant physical library but I thinned it over the years so others can enjoy the books (and keep them). I’ve been using my iPad and iPhone primarily for reading, though the backlighting gets to me sometimes.
Thanks for the heads-up!
I find certain books, like reference books, I need a physical copy as I like to underline things and make notes. Other times, I prefer ebooks for the convenience. One thing I've not been able to get into are audio books though. I know I'm definitely a visual reader.
