Allow me to tell you about my debut publication, Earthly Bodies (April 2021).
This book was born from a lifelong fascination with nature and our relationship with it as residents of planet Earth.
Earthly Bodies is a climate fiction story, full of fungi body horror, or as someone on Twitter recently suggested, Annihilation in space. (Cue me thinking what the heck, that’s one of my favourite books!)
A hugely impressive debut novel, Earthly Bodies is equal parts ‘leaving Terra’ science fiction in the vein of Ray Bradbury’s The Martian Chronicles, and the nature as a superior force warning of John Wyndham’s Day of the Triffids.
This book received Reader’s Choice at the 2021 Ladies of Horror Fiction Awards. For the other books, check out the list here, it’s a great list!
It made Number Thirty, in Reedsy’s top 61 indie books of all time! Check out all 61 books here.
So, if you are into speculative fiction, our relationship to nature, and body horror I reckon you’ll enjoy this. Especially if you liked any of the following;
The visionary scope of The Overstory.
The nature-as-character theme of Annihilation.
The body horror of Naomi Booth’s Sealed.
The structure of Station Eleven.
The blurb;
It is 2058. Rebecca, a widow, receives an invitation to leave Earth and start over, but nature has evolved and is tagging along for the ride.
Earthly Bodies is a dystopian eco-horror story that spans the ages, where strangers reveal their contribution to an extraordinary act of survival.
Harmony with Nature is everyone’s wish. It’s time to be careful what you wish for.

I couldn’t put it down! 👏🏻
